Homemade Veggie Pizza Recipe

Homemade Vegetable Pizza




This homemade veggie pizza is loaded with veggies like fresh mushrooms,sun dried tomatoes,onions,spinach,olives,capsicum/bell peppers,jalapeno and off course cheese.

Preparation Time -  15 min and for dough to rise approx 1 and half hr - 2 hrs( wait til it doubles in volume )( I kept it for about 2 and half hours )
Cooking time - 15- 20 min [ Time may vary as per your oven ]

Ingredients for dough:-

1. 2 cups all purpose flour or maida + 3 teaspoon more flour during kneading adding 1/2 teaspoon at a time for 6 times and then more during dusting and rolling the pizza.(you may not require the extra 3 teaspoon of flour )
2. 1/2 teaspoon of salt or as per your taste.
3. 1 teaspoon active dry yeast.
4. 1 to 3/4 th cup Luke warm water (Sometimes you may not require 1 cup water just 3/4th cup will be alright,so add little water at a time to get the desired smooth pizza dough )
5. 1 tablespoon olive oil+1/2 teaspoon olive oil.
6. 1 teaspoon mixed Italian herbs (optional )
7. 1 teaspoon sugar.

Ingredients for partly homemade sauce:-

NOTE I used a partly homemade sauce and in the centre I used ready  made chipotle sauce[optional]

1. For partly homemade sauce 3 tablespoon tomato ketch up or sauce
2. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
3. Pinch of salt.
4. 1/4 teaspoon sugar.
5. 1 and 1/2 teaspoon oregano or Italian mixed herbs.

Ingredients for pizza toppings :-

1. You can use your choice of vegetables .I used ( Fresh Tomatoes ,sun dried tomatoes,onion,fresh mushrooms,capsicum/bell pepper,Jalapeno,Olives and spinach )
2. I used Cheddar Cheese but you can use Mozzarella as well.

Preparation.

1. First activate the yeast in Luke warm water with sugar.Let it bubble up ( 7-10 mins).
2. Knead the dough and keep it in a warm place to rise or double in size.
3. Chop the vegetables.

Kneading Dough/Cooking/Baking:-

1. Activate the yeast with Luke warm water ( NOT HOT ) with little sugar.In a big bowl take the flour and add the salt and mixed herbs (optional) and mix lightly.
2. When the yeast is activated add to it 1 tablespoon of Olive oil give a quick stir and add it to the flour mixture and knead to smooth dough.I added 3 tablespoon of flour while kneading the dough but not all together- 1/2 teaspoon at a time so in total 1/2 teaspoon 6 times.At last add 1/2 teaspoon of oil to grease the dough and the bowl.I use the same bowl for the dough to rise.
3. I usually keep the dough inside my oven with ONLY THE OVEN LIGHT TURNED ON NOT THE OVEN. DO NOT ON THE OVEN.
4. Prepare the sauce as mentioned under ingredients for homemade sauce by just mixing everything together and keep it aside.
5. When the dough doubles in volume then with the help of extra dusting flour take it out and then make it into a round shape and as shown in the picture make the thick crust by pushing it with your fingers towards the circumference.So a raised edge and central depression is formed.
6. Next apply sauce ( see picture ).I added in the centre (10 cm diameter Chipotle sauce ) [optional ]and rest area the partly homemade sauce.
7. Arrange your toppings on it.Sprinkle very little salt on the veggies .I arranged the spinach and the Jalapeno after adding the cheese.
8. Next bake the veggie pizza in the oven after preheating the oven at 400 degree Fahrenheit  or approx 200 degree Centigrade for 15 mins.This time may vary as per your oven so keep an eye until the crust browns little and cheese is bubbling.
9. Enjoy your hot homemade pizza.

NOTE - I added cheese after the toppings but it can be added first and then the toppings .
