Note Saag Bhaja Recipe or Green Amaranth Fry or Saag with Peanuts and White Poppy Seeds
This green leafy or Note saag or Amaranth fry with crunchy peanuts and white poppy seeds goes well with hot steamed rice.
Preparation Time - Cleaning and washing the leafy greens or saag 10 min
Cooking Time - 10 min
Ingredients :-
1. A bunch of Note Saag or Amaranth greens.
2. 1 tablespoon of lightly roasted peanuts.
3. 1 teaspoon of white poppy seeds.
4. 1 dry red chilly.
5. Mustard oil or any vegetable oil ( 2 teaspoon )
6. Salt as per your taste.
Preparation:-
1. Clean and wash the note saag or Amaranth greens properly and let the water drain in a colander.
2. Dry roast the Peanuts lightly.
Cooking:-
1. Take an Utensil ( I used Non stick ) and add oil.
2. Add the dry chilly and let it infuse its flavours in the oil followed by the peanuts and white poppy seeds,
3. Add the Saag or leafy greens and fry ,covering and cooking it intermittently.
4. Add the salt at last because the leafy greens or saag will decrease in volume so depending on it add the salt.
5. When fried properly serve as a side with hot steamed rice.
