Kumro Bhat ee or Pumpkin Bharta or mashed Pumpkin
This Kumro bhat ee or Pumpkin bharta or mashed pumpkin is very easy to make and goes well with hot steaming rice.Its made with garlic,dry red chilly,fresh chilly ,black pepper and ghee or clarified butter.
Preparation Time - 5-10 min
Cooking Time - 20 -25 min
Ingredients:-
1. Pumpkin - Chopped about 150 grams
2. Garlic clove - 1 big fat clove
3. Black pepper powder - little less than 1/4th teaspoon
4. 1 dry red chilly.
5. 1 fresh Indian chilly.
6. Ghee or clarified butter 1-2 teaspoon.
7. Salt - as per your taste ( I added around 1/2 teaspoon )
Preparation:-
1. Wash .clean and chop the Pumpkin.
2. Boil the pumpkin until done, drain the water and keep aside.
Cooking:-
1. Take an utensil add ghee ( 1 -2 teaspoon ) and add the dry red chilly and let it infuse its flavour.
2. Then add the crushed garlic clove ( crushed in a mortar and pestle or hamaldista ) and let it turn just brown not burnt so be careful.
3. Add the boiled pumpkin and mash it with a spoon and mix.
4. Lastly add the salt,black pepper and crushed fresh chilly and mix.
5 Serve it warm with hot steamed rice as a side dish.
